How to Spend Safely in the Time of COVID-19

We encourage our members to stay safe. Here are a few tips to make it easier!

Whether you need to check your account balances or order a refill on hand sanitizer, you’re probably looking for easy ways to get what you need while staying safe.

That’s why we put together a few ways you can spend safely, manage your funds from a distance, and support your community:

Use contactless payments to minimize touching.

Did you know that all Purdue Federal cards allow you to tap to pay at card readers with a contactless payment option? This helps minimize touching and decrease the potential spread of germs.

It’s also easy to shop safely online by ordering delivery or curbside pickup from most stores and restaurants.

Visit ATMs and ITMs whenever you can.

Our ATMs and virtual tellers are a safer and convenient alternative to heading into a branch. We sanitize our machines regularly, to help keep members healthy. Find an ATM close to you here or an ITM (virtual teller) at our branches.

Use digital banking and the mobile app.

Online options allow quick and easy banking from a distance. Not to mention, they’re available at your fingertips 24/7!

At Purdue Federal, digital banking and the mobile app include:

  • Mobile check deposit
  • Redeem credit card points
  • Person to person payments
  • Print check to branch

Only visit branches when it’s necessary.

And when you do, remember your mask and keep your distance.

By now, it’s probably a habit, but we’re here to remind you. At Purdue Federal, we limit the number of people in each branch lobby to ensure proper social distancing and (per the order in Indiana) require masks for everyone inside. Additionally, our employees are behind Plexiglas shields.

Support local businesses with gift cards.

If you’re interested in supporting businesses in your community but are playing it safe, gift cards are a great way to help! Contact the places you love most and ask how you can purchase a gift card to use when you feel more comfortable. They’ll be happy to help—and the money goes directly to them now instead of in the future!

While being a member looks a little different these days, we’re here for you like we have been since 1969. Purdue Federal branches are open, but we encourage members to use these services whenever possible to prevent the spread of germs and keep everyone as safe as possible.

If you have questions about how Purdue Federal can help you spend safely, you’re encouraged to call the Contact Center at 765.497.3328 or 800.627.3328.
