1. No purchase necessary.

A purchase transaction will not increase your chances of winning. You have not yet won. Automatic entries and manual entries will be referred to herein as “Entries” or “Entry”.  Persons submitting Entries are referred to herein as “Entrants”. Starts June 1, 2023 and ends on August 31, 2023.  Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

2. Eligibility for Promotion

Open to legal U.S. Residents only. Must be 17 years or older to enter. Purdue Federal Credit Union (“Credit Union”) employees and volunteers, and their immediate family members, are not eligible. Social Security Number (“SSN”) required to win sweepstakes prize. SSN required for tax reporting. A “Member in good standing” means no delinquencies on any Credit Union loans, no collections, negative share balances, excessive non-sufficient funds, charge-offs or loans in forbearance at time of entry and drawing. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a potential winner or Entry based on automatic entry, the member who is the tax reported owner on the account will be declared the winner, as determined by the Credit Union’s records.

3. How to Enter:

Regardless of entry method used, entries are limited to a maximum of one entry per Social Security Number for the promotional period.  There are two (2) ways to enter:

Automatic Entries—All new Credit Union members age 17 and older who qualify for membership as a student at Purdue University in West Lafayette are automatically entered when they open and fund a Student Checking account with a minimum $25 deposit and debit card, and enroll in digital banking and paperless statements between June 1, 2023 and August 31, 2023. Entrants will need a parent or guardian to obtain a debit card if they are 17 years old or younger. Must be a new member to the Credit Union and Entrant cannot have closed a previous Member Ownership Share within the previous 12 months or caused the Credit Union a loss. Must make $5 deposit into Member Ownership Share to become a member of the Credit Union. 

Manual Entries—Members in good standing and non-members may enter by printing your full name, address, telephone number with area code and email address on a postage-paid 3” by 5” card and mail it to: Purdue Federal Credit Union Student Checking Sweepstakes, Attn: Marketing, PO Box 1950, West Lafayette, IN 47996-1950. Only mail entries received during promotional period will be accepted. Hand-delivered entries will not be accepted. Mechanically and electronically reproduced write-in entries or entries submitted via any third party not directly affiliated with the Credit Union will not be accepted. Additional personal information may be required for IRS reporting. Entries become the property of the Credit Union and will not be returned. The Credit Union is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete or postage-due mail entries. Incomplete or illegible entries will be disqualified. Members in good standing or non-members submitting multiple entries will be disqualified.

4. Prizes

Each prize is the cash value of $500. The Credit Union will randomly draw six (6) prize winners. The total amount of prize awards by Purdue Federal Credit Union for this promotion will not exceed $3,000.

5. Prize Instructions:

If the prize winner is a Credit Union member, the prize will be rewarded as a one-time deposit directly into the member’s Purdue Federal Credit Union Student Checking Account. If the prize winner is not a member, the $500 prize will be awarded as a check to be picked up at our Purdue Memorial Union branch in West Lafayette, IN. Actual Retail Value of each prize is $500.

6. Notifications and Release:  

Potential winners will be notified by phone, U.S. mail or email by the Credit Union within seven (7) business days of each monthly drawing.  Any potential winner(s) who does not respond to notification attempts within seven (7) business days will result in prize forfeiture and an alternate winner will be randomly drawn. All potential winners must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and being declared an official winner is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Potential winners may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and compliance (including providing their Social Security Number for tax purposes) and a publicity/liability release, as allowed by law, within seven (7) business days of notification attempt or they will forfeit the prize.  In the event of forfeiture, an unreachable potential winner, a disqualification or if the potential winner declines acceptance of the prize, the Credit Union may award the prize to a randomly selected alternate potential winner. All potential winners are subject to verification by the Credit Union whose decisions as to selection and verification of potential winners are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes.

7. Consumer Disclosure:

Odds of winning are based on the number of entries. For example, if there are 1,000 entries your odds of winning would be 1 out of 1,000.

8. Tax Responsibility:

Winners will receive an IRS 1099 Tax Form in the mail for the value of the prize. Any member or non-member who wins prizes through any Credit Union promotions with cumulative value equal to or greater than $600 in a calendar year will receive an IRS 1099 Tax Form. Prize winners are solely responsible for all applicable federal, state, local or other taxes, assessments, fees or costs associated with or imposed upon the winner of any prize in this promotion. No prize substitutions or transfers permitted except at the sole discretion of the Credit Union.

9. Release of Claims:

Entrants, winners, members of any entrant’s or winner’s household, and their respective relatives and persons who use any prize awarded by the Credit Union, and such persons’ heirs, assigns, executors and administrators release, indemnify and hold harmless the Credit Union and its directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all claims, actions, demands, choses in action and damages which they have now or any time in the future arising from the use of any prize, including personal injury or death. IN NO EVENT WILL THE CREDIT UNION AND ITS AGENTS BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR ACCEPTANCE OR USE/MISUSE OF ANY PRIZE. 

10. General Conditions:

By entering the Sweepstakes drawing and/or accepting a prize as a selected winner, each entrant/winner agrees that they have read these Official Rules and agrees that they will be strictly bound by them. The Credit Union’s decisions shall be final in all matters pertaining to this Sweepstakes and any/all prizes awarded. Further, entrants/winners grant the Credit Union the right to use their individual name, addresses, photographs, and likeness for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes and for any other purpose as determined by the Credit Union, in any and all media without limitation, without further compensation or permission, except where prohibited by law. The Credit Union reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the Sweepstakes at any time without notice.  The Credit Union reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found violating these Official Rules or who behaves in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Entrants/Winners agree that the Credit Union and its officers, directors, employees and agents have not made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, statutory, express, or implied, in fact or in law, relative to this Sweepstakes or to any prize. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of an Entrant and Credit Union in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Indiana, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Indiana or any other jurisdiction).  

11. Sponsor

Purdue Federal Credit Union is the sponsor of the drawing. The promotion is not affiliated with any other sponsor.
