Assistant Director, Financial Literacy Education
Junia comes from working in Student Success Programs at Purdue University as a Financial Aid Administrator. She has experience in providing education and guidance to students and families regarding the financial aid process, scholarships and financial literacy as well as serve as a liaison with the Division of Financial Aid. Her experience as a first-generation, low-income student allows her to bring a unique understanding to students in the same situation. She successfully completed her undergraduate degree as a mother to three children all while managing a full time job in the Business Office for Student Organizations at Purdue.
As Assistant Director, Financial Literacy Education, Junia looks forward to continuing her passion of providing financial literacy education to students from a variety of backgrounds.
Meet the Student Financial Educators!
Elaine Doyle is a Senior in Financial Counseling and Planning. Post-graduation, she will be working as a financial consultant in Dallas, Texas, where she hopes to apply the skills she has obtained in undergrad towards helping families save for their childrens college funds and their retirement goals. She has a passion for early childhood education, wanting to eventually work with lower-income communities to teach financial literacy in schools. Her goals for the next 5 years are to become fluent in Spanish, learn how to code, and get her CFP designation.
Mackenzie Tice is a Senior in Financial Counseling and Planning. With experience as the House Mediation Officer for her sorority, Phi Sigma Rho, Mackenzie brings her skills of listening intently and helping others resolve issues they are facing. As a Student Financial Educator, she hopes to help others understand more about their finances and learn how to budget their earnings. With a passion for helping, Mackenzie hopes to give others the confidence to plan for their future. In her free time Mackenzie enjoys binge watching her favorite shows and hockey.
Emily Miramontes is a Sophomore studying Financial Counseling and Planning with a minor in Spanish for the Professions. She is currently the Finance Director of her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, where she is a point of reference for any financial needs. Emily is also the Treasurer of Habitat for Humanity Student Organization, where she has been able to help with budgeting and the execution of fundraising goals. Her passion in life is to create a positive impact by educating as many people as possible about financial literacy. Her goal is to use her Purdue degree to help low income families make the most of their finances to better their future.
Rachel Mithoefer is a Junior in Financial Counseling and Planning. Her goal is to create a better client interaction by focusing on client needs. Her passion is understanding and working with people. In addition to being a Student Financial Educator, she is also involved in Purdue's Financial Planning Association. Her goal is to create a better client interaction by focusing on client needs. She is excited about this opportunity to enhance her financial counseling and planning career goals. Once she graduates, she aspires to become a Financial Advisor. Her passion is understanding and working with people.
Yianni Mouflouzelis is a Junior at Purdue University working on completing his undergraduate degree in Financial Counseling and Planning. He has held the position of Treasurer and Resident Advisor for his Fraternity, which has provided him with the experience of helping the organization and its members reach their financial goals. As a Student Financial Educator Yianni is excited to be assisting students and to apply what he has learned in the classroom to make a difference in the lives of his fellow Boilermakers.
