What is Mobile Check Deposit?
Purdue Federal Credit Union is pleased to offer our members Mobile Check Deposit, a convenient way to deposit checks through their mobile device. This service is available through our mobile app available in the Apple App Store or Google Play. Other commonly used names for Mobile Check Deposit include Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) or Mobile Deposit.
Who can use Mobile Check Deposit?
Any member who has a valid checking account with us and is currently enrolled in our Online Banking can use Mobile Check Deposit through our mobile app.
Which devices can use Mobile Check Deposit?
Mobile Check Deposit is only available for devices using Apple iOS or Google Android™. Unfortunately, Mobile Check Deposit is not available for BlackBerry or Windows devices.
Is there a fee associated with using Mobile Check Deposit?
No, this is a free service provided by Purdue Federal; however, standard data or text messaging rates for your mobile device may apply.
What should I do with my check after I submit it via Mobile Check Deposit?
After depositing, we recommend holding onto the check for at least two weeks. After the two week period, you should mark it VOID and keep for your records or discard if you wish.
When will my deposited funds be available?
Our Mobile Check Deposit holds are similar to our ATM deposit holds. We’ll process checks at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday – Friday. In most cases, the first $100 of your deposit will be available after the next processing time.
Can I deposit any type of check with Mobile Check Deposit?
Any check except foreign items and savings bonds can be deposited through Mobile Check Deposit.
Is there a dollar amount threshold for using Mobile Check Deposit?
You cannot deposit a check for $10,000 or more via Mobile Check Deposit.
Is there a limit on the number of checks I can deposit in a day?
We have a daily limit of 10 checks deposited via Mobile Check Deposit.
Other helpful tips for using Mobile Check Deposit:
- Make sure the check amount entered matches the amount written.
- Verify that the back of your check is signed (endorsed) and labeled, "For PFCU Mobile Deposit Only".
- Flatten folded or crumpled checks before taking your photos.
- Keep the check within the on-screen corners when capturing your photo.
- Capture the photos in a well-lit area on a dark background.
- Keep the phone flat and steady above the check when taking your photo.
- Avoid shadows of the check.
- Make sure the entire check image is visible and in focus before submitting your mobile deposit.
How can I access my installment loans or mortgage loan?
You will need to log in to the full version of www.purduefed.com through your smart phone or computer to access your loan accounts.
How can I transfer money to an external account or set up recurring transfers?
You will need to log in to the full version of www.purduefed.com on your smart phone or computer to access external accounts through online banking.
Why can I no longer access Popmoney through Mobile Bill Pay?
After some research, we discovered that Popmoney wasn’t being utilized by very many members through our current app. We hope to have an improved person-to-person payment option in a future app upgrade. For now, you can still access Popmoney through online banking or by downloading Popmoney’s separate app.
