What you need to open a Youth Savings Account:

  • Social Security card, birth certificate or unexpired government-issued ID for minor
  • $5.00 minimum opening deposit
  • Social Security number
  • Must have an adult as joint on the account. Adult must present an unexpired government-issued ID as well.

I had a Youth Savings opened by my mom when I was young, and I have now opened one for my daughter. Purdue Federal has given great incentives for kids to save their allowance, spare change, or birthday money and they make it easy for me to access her account directly so I can add funds whenever I want.Read More
