Who can access the account?
The trustees listed in the certificate of trust can:
- Deposit cash and checks made payable to the trust or grantor
- Write checks and use a debit card
- Access and manage accounts through digital banking
What you'll need
Requirements vary by trust type, but most require the following information and documents.
- Grantor(s) must be member(s)
- Certificate of Trust signed by all acting trustees and dated in the last 30 days
- Grantor's / Trustee's identification, such as a valid government-issued ID
- SSN or EIN as defined in the trust
Please note that loans, including credit cards, cannot be opened under an Irrevocable Trust.
- Grantor(s) must be member(s) (or had an active membership prior to passing), or all beneficiaries must be members
- Certificate of Trust signed by all acting trustees and dated in the last 30 days
- Trustee's and Beneficiary's identification, such as a valid government-issued ID
- EIN
- Beneficiary must be a member
