Be aware of fraudulent text messages that impersonate Purdue Federal and ask you to click a link. See image below for an example:

If someone reaches out claiming to be from Purdue Federal Credit Union and you suspect it may be a scam, do not click any links or share your personal information with them. If you have clicked on the link and/or shared your personal information afterwards, please call us at 800.627.3328 to report it to our fraud team.

Charity Scams following Hurricanes Milton and Helene

 

Please be aware of potential charity scams following Hurricanes Milton and Helene. Scammers often exploit these times of crisis to solicit funds from well-meaning donors. To protect yourself: 

  1. Verify Legitimacy: Always confirm that a charity is officially recognized by the IRS before making any donations. This can be done through the IRS's Tax Exempt Organization Search Tool.
  2. Be Cautious of Unsolicited Requests: Be wary of unsolicited calls, emails, or messages requesting donations. Scammers often use these methods to deceive and extract money or sensitive information.
  3. Understand the Risks: Falling victim to a scam can result in significant financial loss and potential identity theft. Safeguard your personal and financial information. 

Stay informed and cautious to ensure your generosity benefits the intended recipients. If something seems suspicious, trust your instincts and verify before you donate.

Be alert: Fake Purdue Federal Investigators urging members to leave card and PIN in mailbox

⚠️ We have been made aware of a new fraud trend that has been targeting our members. Members have reported receiving phone calls claiming to be Purdue Federal fraud investigators. The caller is claiming that they have detected fraud on their account and directing the member to leave their card and PIN in their mailbox and a member of fraud will come pick up the card and issue a new card. 

These calls are NOT from Purdue Federal. Do not trust these calls. Purdue Federal will NEVER ask you to do this.
